DU QUOIN EDUCATION ASSOCIATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS
The Du Quoin Education Association awarded three $500 scholarships this year. The recipients this year are Sophie Davis, Eli File, and Elizabeth Loyd. Sophie Davis is the daughter of Mandie and Tim Davis of DuQuoin. Eli File is the son of Shawn and Shelly File of DuQuoin. Elizabeth Loyd is the daughter of Kimberly and Scott Loyd of DuQuoin. All three recipients are children of DEA members and graduated from Du Quoin High School.
Students receiving the scholarship must be graduates of Du Quoin High School or the children of a DEA member, accepted into a College of Education program, and have attained junior standing in college.
Congratulations to all recipients!

The graduation ceremony for the DHS Class of 2023 will be held in Anders Gym this evening at 6 PM. The decision to move the ceremony indoors is due to the possibility of storms/lightning in the area during the late afternoon and evening hours.
We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2023!

Camp BETA is a free overnight camp for youth ages 10-16 with Type 1 diabetes. Camp BETA is a collaboration between Southern Illinois Healthcare, the Diabetes Today Resource Team and Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center. If you have a child in this age range who is a Type 1 diabetic, you can register for Camp BETA at the Touch of Nature website at ton.siu.edu.

Dental Safari will be coming to District #300 on April 24th and 25th this year for all students enrolled in Pre-K thru 12th grade! They provide a super convenient dental service that provides cleanings, examinations, and fluoride treatments. When needed, they will also call you and set up return dates for other needed dental procedures like fillings and repairs. If you register your child for a cleaning and exam, Dental Safari will see your child during the school day and provide the required dental exam form for students in kindergarten, 2nd grade, 6th grade, and 9th grade. It will also meet those grade level requirements for next year!

SCHEDULE CHANGE: An update from the high school theater department. There is no performance tonight due to the threat of severe weather. Due to scheduling conflicts "Robin Hood and His Merry Men" theater production will now have a 3:00 PM matinee on Saturday, April 1 and an evening production at 7:00 PM. There will be no Sunday performance. We apologize for all of the re-scheduling.


Are you ready for a night of laughter and adventure? Look no further than the DuQuoin High School Theatre Department's production of "Robin Hood and His Merry Men" by Richard Gremel.
Join us on March 31st and April 1st at 7:00 p.m. in the Hibbs Auditorium. Watch as Robin Hood and his band of misfits take on the tyrannical Prince John and Sheriff of Nottingham in this hilarious retelling of the classic story.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door. Bring your family and friends and join us for a night of laughter and fun. We can't wait to see you there!
