Du Quoin CUSD 300 is looking for qualified individuals for the following positions in the 21st Century after school program and is grant funded. Two teachers for 3rd grade homework rooms and two instructional aides. Teacher salary is $30/ hour and aide salary is $15/hour with weekly hours totaling 10 hours per week. 
Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plans instructional studies to match the academic needs of students, providing lesson plans to the program as requested for reporting and evaluation documentation 
  • Creates an environment conducive to learning, to the creation of a positive self-image and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. 
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of the Du Quoin 21st Century Program curricular goals by establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and communicating these objectives to students. 
  • Assesses the accomplishments of students on a weekly basis and participates in monthly professional development to meet the grant goals and objectives 
  • Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students. 
  • Follows mandated reporting, FERPA and program staff handbook guidelines  

Teacher Qualifications:

  • Professional Educator License (PEL) preferred, or  
  • Bachelor's Degree, with preference will be given to those with degrees in the field of education, or 
  • Substitute teacher PEL 

Instructional Aide Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during snacks and recreation 
  • Assist with classroom instruction as assigned by teacher or program coordinator 
  • Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of teachers.
  • Participates in professional development as provided through the program and as recommended 
  • Follows mandated reporting, FERPA and program staff handbook guidelines  

Instructional Aide Qualifications

  • Paraprofessional Professional Educator License (PEL), or 
  • 2 years (60 hours) college credits
