Representatives from Balfour will be here today to meet separately with sophomores and seniors.  They will be meeting with seniors to measure for caps and gowns for graduation. They will be meeting with sophomores to discuss class rings.  Balfour will then return on Tuesday, November 6 to take orders from the sophomores for class rings.

Art Club hoodies are in; come by and pick yours up.

Juniors and Seniors: A representative from University of Missouri-St. Louis will be at DHS at 9:30 today.  Please sign the list in guidance if you are interested in attending.

There are some extra playoff shirts in various sizes available in the office.

Speech practice will be 4-6 today and 4-5 on Thursday.

The first speech meet is this Saturday, November 3, in Marion, and the bus will depart DHS at 7:30 am.

Tryouts for the Du Quoin High School boys' basketball team will be Monday, November 5th.  Sophomores through Seniors will tryout from 3:20-5:30 in Anders Gymnasium. Freshman tryouts will be from 5:00-6:30 at the High School. All boys interested in trying out must have a physical and insurance information turned in by the time of tryouts.  Enjoy your week off and we will see everyone on the 5th.

Seniors: If you are planning to apply to Eastern now is the perfect time.  They are waiving all application fees until Thursday, November 1st. They will also be offering a $1,000 scholarship drawing for students who have applied before Thursday, November 1. Two winners - a freshman student and a transfer student - will be randomly selected on November 2.

There will be an NHS induction ceremony rehearsal immediately after school today @ 11:15 for new NHS members.

Awesome job FBLA Trick or Treaters.  We collected 990 items for the local food pantry!

November 5th -9th is our annual can food drive  This year Du Quoin High School is competing with other local high schools, like Mt. Vernon, Marion, and Carbondale in total items collected.  Please help Student Council in next week's food drive. Teachers will have a list of items needed in their mailboxes. Every item you bring in helps feed a local family in need.
