 Reasons we are proud…

  • We congratulate the Illinois State Scholars from DHS:  Delainey File, Madeline Halstead, Emily Hamburger, Paxton Higgerson, Nathaniel Manning, Dawson McRoberts, Allie Melvin, Brogan Smith, Hank Stewart, Hope Stewart and Summer Tucker. Illinois State Scholars must be top performing members of their class and score in the 95th percentile of the ACT or SAT. Great job!

  • Congrats to DHS Nov. Students of the Month: Mystri Short, Nick Depyatic, Olivia Whitley & Delainey File! Thanks for your positive contribution to our school!

  • The DHS Student Council collected over 3,300 items during their canned food drive for local food pantries! Awesome work!

  • The 2016 Illinois Science Assessment results are in...finally! Our biology students took this assessment back in the spring of 2016. 54% of our students earned a rating of “proficient” compared to 39% statewide.

  • The girls and boys tip-off tournaments were another great team effort. Coaches and students ran concession stands and Mrs. Stacey and her Food Science students once again did a great job with the hospitality room. All-tournament players from DHS included Morgan Bullar & Grace Haney on the girls side and Lamontay Daughtery & Will Woodside on the boys side. In addition, Klayton Donoghue was the winner of the Sportsmanship Award!

  • The DHS Jazz Band performed in the Expo Hall on Dec. 2 for the Du Quoin Holiday Lights Fair.  Thanks for representing DHS at this community event!

  • All-South Cross Country Team members include our own Andrea Lopez and Gabby Alongi!

  • The Du Quoin Nursing and Rehab Center was decorated for the Christmas season by our National Honor Society members.  Thanks for your time and service, NHS members!

  • All-Conference football team members for the Mississippi Division of the SIRR included:  1st Team - Shamar Adams, Westly Milam, Ashton Smith & 2nd Team - Eliot Gross, Cameron Spiller. Congrats!

  • The Indianettes brought home 1st Place trophies in the IDTA and IHSA categories in their first competition of the season...way to go girls!

  • The DHS cheerleaders recently competed for the first time in their season and successfully qualified for the ICCA State event. Nice work!
