Good afternoon DES families,
I hope and trust this message finds you and your family well. I know this has been tough, so we appreciate all you and our students are doing to meet with teachers and conduct at-home learning assignments. By now you have most likely heard the news from the District that will will have a Remote Learning Day Thursday, Feb. 18th. Please make sure to log e-learning attendance in TeacherEase by 3:00 PM. At the end of the day we are switching those accounts that do not have attendance marked to absent - excused.
We are hopeful that we will be able to have in person attendance on Friday, Feb. 19. As a reminder, we had plannned to hold this Friday as an in person school day given that Monday was a school holiday. Teachers will make contact given the rescheduling of the Valentine celebrations. Some teacher do plan to go ahead with their activities this Friday and others will hold them next week.
Next week brings our Spring Picture day on Thursday, Feb. 25th. These are conducted by Humphrey's Studio, and all students will have their picture taken on this date. Unlike fall pictures, you do not pay for pictures prior to picture day. Please do not send money with your student. Proofs will be sent home a few week later with students from which you may order any prints or packages of your choosing. We do receive a percentage of the picture purchases, so keep this in mind as you make your decisions. Any purchase does help the school out as well.
