Du Quoin Elementary Families,

Welcome to the New Year and second semester of the school year! What a ride we have had during the past year. We are looking forward to, like you, the second half of the school year and new opportunities to see our kids grow and learn! As a reminder we are on the blended schedule next week as follows:

Monday, Jan. 11 - A Schedule students

Tuesday, Jan. 12 - B Schedule students

Wednesday, Jan. 13 - A Schedule students

Thursday, Jan. 14 - B Schedule students

Friday, Jan. 15 - Remote Learning for all students

The following week we do have a school holiday on Monday, Jan. 18 for Martin Luther King holiday and will return to 4 days in person learning that week. That schedule will be included in the Papoose News next week.

This was report card week! So check out the backpacks and mail for progress reports. Also we are sending notices to families of students who have failing grades or missing assignments. Working together we can help all our student achieve more. If you have questions or concerns about grades or student progress, please reach out to me or your child's teacher.

It is that time of year for our One School, One Book project. I look forward to this every year and know this year will be one we will truly enjoy together. It's going to be so exciting, like finding gold! As a hint, check out the pictures from our faculty and staff costumes last fall. What do these costumes have in common? And watch next week for as we spin a couple of new hints tied to our book title!

With Papoose Pride,

Diana Rea, Principal
