Good Afternoon DES Students and Families,

I hope all of you are safe and healthy during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.  Our students at DES continue to work hard daily on either the online learning, paper/pencil materials or both. This will undoubtedly continue the development of new skill sets and prove beneficial in subsequent days, months and years.  While remote learning will never be a substitute for classroom instruction, our students and teachers are acquiring new insights and ideas from this experience that will make all of us better learners and educators.

The situation we are living in can be stressful for all of us, and we are sensitive to the challenges placed on our families.  At this time our primary concern is the safety and well being of our students, staff, and community. I will do my best to help during these uncertain times. If we can assist with anything during this time, please know we are here to support you. You can contact me at  drea@duquoinschools.org.

Tomorrow, April 9 begins our Spring Break which continues through next Monday, April 13. While this break is unique given our stay-at-home conditions, we encourage you to take a "break" from screens and school work. Take this time away from the rigors of academics to recharge and connect with loved ones.

The faculty, staff and I hope that all our DES students and families have a safe spring break and are all able to enjoy a little sunshine.
