DHS Announcements September 16, 2019

Today’s Lunch:  Ravioli, green beans, salad, garlic bread, and fruit

Tomorrow’s Breakfast:  Pancake and sausage bites, fruit, juice, and milk

Tomorrow’s Lunch:  Walking taco, confetti beans, and fruit

Friends of Rachel Club will have a meeting today after school in the Library to work on the project for September.

Anyone that needs to make up an English class please stop in Guidance today for more information.

HELP WANTED: Would you like the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life- help save a life?

Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood. The DHS FFA chapter will be kicking off

the school year with a BLOOD DRIVE. Mark your calendar for Wednesday September 25th. DHS students

16 years of age and older are welcome to donate. A school wide signup will start TODAY! You can sign

up with any FFA member that is wearing an American Red Cross sticker.

Pep Club- We are looking for old games you know longer use or play with.  They can have missing cards or pieces. Please bring them to school and drop them off in Mrs. Miller's room ASAP.  

FCCLA Members--Rada is due this week.  There is a way for people to order online--here is the website.

Attention FBLA Members: The New Member Induction Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Commons. Business dress is required. Please see Mrs. Gross if you have any questions.

Thank you to all of the pep club members who attended last Wednesday's art day!  There will be another one after school in the commons on Tuesday, Sept. 17th! Sign up on Ms. Baxter's door if you plan to attend!

Pep club members who are painting the town for homecoming need to have their form signed and handed in by Sept. 18th -- which is also our next club meeting in the commons during ELT!  See Ms. Baxter if you need a form. NOTE: YOU MAY PAINT MORE THAN ONE BUILDING!

There will be a basketball open gym today from 3:30 to 4:30 for girls that are not involved in a fall sport.  If you have any questions, please see Coach File in room 214.

In observance of Domestic Violence Awareness month, everyone is welcome to wear purple on Tuesday, October 1.

There will be an Engineering Club meeting this Wednesday @ 7:15 a.m. in Mr. Jones' room.

There will be Chess Club matches in the library after school on Wednesday.

If you borrowed a jersey for the "white out," please wash it and return it to Ms. Baxter by Wednesday, Sept. 18th.

Art Club meeting Thursday after school to decide on shirt type and color.

College Visits at DHS for Juniors and Seniors

A representative from Vincennes University will be at Du Quoin High School today at 9 am.  Please sign up in guidance if you are interested in learning more about the University and their programs.

A representative from University of Illinois will be here to speak with you Tuesday, September 17th at 1:10. Please sign up in Guidance if you are interested in attending.
