Juniors/Seniors:  If you are interested in learning more about SIU-Edwardsville a college representative will be here next Monday, October 15th at 9 am. Please sign the list in guidance if you plan to attend.

Seniors: If you are planning to be a teacher in Illinois please check out this scholarship opportunity:  

Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois Program is now recruiting high school seniors to apply for our teacher preparation program. Scholars are provided with extensive teaching experience and advanced preparation to supplement their college curriculum, academic support throughout college, college tuition-assistance and support (up to $23,000), and mentoring during their first years of teaching. In return, Scholars commit to teach in Illinois schools-of-need for five years after college graduation from an Illinois partner university.

FBLA bonfire will be on Tuesday, October 16 from 6:00-8:00PM at Bobbiann Hamlin's house.  Please sign up to bring food items in Mrs. Gross' room #112. Don't forget the fundraiser and money are due on the 16th as well.

FBLA members that would like to hand out Trick or Treat for Can Good flyers on Wednesday, October 17 need to meet in Mrs. Gross' room after school.

FCCLA Members--The October meeting and pumpkin decorating contest will be on October 24th.  Pumpkin decorating will begin at 3:30 and all pumpkins must be done by 6:00 PM. The October meeting will be at 6:00 PM.  Make plans to attend--put it on your calendar!

A representative from Southeast Missouri State University will be visiting DHS next Wednesday, October 17th at 8:30. If you would like to learn more about SEMO please sign the list in the Guidance Office.

Next week Student Council will be hosting a "Pink Prince Day."  All male teachers who want to participate will be collecting money Monday-Wednesday for the Coach Kill Foundation. The teacher with the most money by the end of the day on Wednesday will be crowned "Pink Prince” on Thursday.  Every male teacher who participated will dress up in Pink on Thursday, October 18th.

Next Thursday October 18th will be "Pink Day."  Wear pink to support breast cancer awareness.

On Monday, Oct. 15th, our after school program is going to offer “Welcome to the Real World” which is an activity to provide a glimpse of what life is like when you are living on your own and have bills to pay.  The activity will begin at 3:15 in our Media Center, and snacks will be provided. There is a sign-up sheet in the office if you are interested.
