Tomorrow’s Lunch:  Chicken strip with gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, biscuit, and apples

Picture retake day is Friday, October 12.  Order forms for the retakes are in the office.

Sophomores:  Anyone that would like to apply to attend the HOBY Leadership Seminar (in June 2019) should stop in guidance for more information.  Selected student will spend time on a college campus participating in unique leadership training, service-learning, and motivation-building experiences.  If interested, please stop by guidance to learn more.

Freshmen- Your room assignments for the upcoming PSAT today are posted in Ms. Baxter’s and Ms. Geiger’s rooms.

Juniors- Your room assignments for the upcoming Practice SAT today are posted in Ms. Coleman’s and Mr. File's rooms.  

A representative from the Navy will be here during 5B lunch on Thursday, October 11 if anyone is interested in receiving information regarding the services and opportunities available.

Girls’ basketball open gym will be Thursday after school.

Juniors/Seniors:  If you are interested in learning more about SIU-Edwardsville a college representative will be here next Monday, October 15th at 9 am. Please sign the list in guidance if you plan to attend.

Seniors: If you are planning to be a teacher in Illinois please check out this scholarship opportunity:  

Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois Program is now recruiting high school seniors to apply for our teacher preparation program. Scholars are provided with extensive teaching experience and advanced preparation to supplement their college curriculum, academic support throughout college, college tuition-assistance and support (up to $23,000), and mentoring during their first years of teaching. In return, Scholars commit to teach in Illinois schools-of-need for five years after college graduation from an Illinois partner university.

On Thursday October 12 during lunch hours, the lunch crew will be serving apple slices; but these are special apple slices this week.   The Du Quoin School District will be participating in Illinois Great Apple Crunch which encourages and celebrates the use of healthy, Illinois-grown foods in cafeterias across the state.  There will be special information and trivia posted in the cafeteria serving lines.
