Du Quoin Elementary School Families,

On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I hope that you are enjoying a wonder-filled and relaxing holiday break!  Last fall, we had many hours of good discussions about how we and our families can work together to ensure that our students are receiving an education that supports and enriches them to reach their full potential in academic achievement and character goodness.  I am grateful for the blessing of this community of staff, students and families in my life, and am eager to see everyone again when school resumes the week of Monday, Jan. 4th to fulfill our mission.

We do return the first two weeks in a blended schedule to provide an additional level of protection with social distancing. Students with last names A-L will attend on Schedule A days. Students with last names M - Z attend on Schedule B days. If your student's assigned group was changed to help with class size or family needs to connect siblings who had differing attendance days, those assignments will be used for this return schedule as well.

Students will have at home or homework type assignments for the days they are not in attendance. We will not hold virtual meeting with blended attendance schedule students on their "off" day. Much of the at home work will consists of early literacy skills, reading, math practice and others that are more paper-based , not online programming based.

Below please find some important dates and reminders about the start of the next semester of the school year.  Thank you in advance for your attention to the many details.
