DES Families,

We hope this message finds you well. Many students have participated in the holiday spirit themes this week and you can feel the "jingle" in the air. We will continue our spirit days through next week:

Monday, Dec. 14 - Let's pretend we all in Hawaii and hold a Mele Kalikimaka (Hawaiian Merry Christmas )- wear your favorite Hawaiian attire!

Tuesday, Dec. 15 - Grab your favorite country gear;  cowboy hats, boots and western wear, for a county Ho-Hoedown Holiday.

Wednesday, Dec. 16 - It's Grinch Day -  Wear a Grinch shirt or a favorite green shirt!

Thursday, Dec. 17 - We hosting Ugly Sweater Day! We will hold our winter party day at this time, with teachers using funds from their PTO fees to celebrate.

Friday, Dec. 18 - We finish the year with “Próspero año y felicidad" meaning "Merry Christmas, a prosperous year and happiness” to all the  students and families of Du Quoin Elementary! Wear a sombrero, poncho, bright colors and other Spanish-inspired designs for this remote learning end of the semester.

Also next week all  students will receive a book gift from the elementary school. Watch for those to come home in the backpack. They are a gift to your student and, we hope, a nice memento of the wishes from all of us at school.
