DES Families,

As you have seen, we have made a switch to taking attendance in TeacherEase. You will login each morning your student is learning at home based on their schedule and complete the required attendance information. Please do this on these mornings to ensure your student does not get marked absent.

  • If your student attends on Monday/Wednesday (Group A schedule) - parent marks attendance on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
  • If your student attends on Tuesday/Thursday (Group B schedule) - parent marks attendance on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
  • If your student does attend in person (Group Full Time Remote) -  parent will mark attendance every school day.

On days that students are learning remotely as noted above, please "check-in" through TeacherEase by 9:00 AM. If your child is ill and unable to participate either remotely or in person, we ask that a parent/guardian report the illness to our school as normal.

2019-2020 Perfect Attendance Announcement:

This week we proudly recognized our perfect attendance awardees from the 2019-2020 school year. Congratulations to:

Bo Beard, Maven Cole, Serenity Lowe, Sophie Kellerman, Karsten Black, Connor Chastain, Jaxon Fellner, Zoe Hopkins, Noah Koehn, Makynleigh Patterson, Addison Shurtz and Kinlee Woodsides. We also awarded the following middle school students for perfect attendance in 4th grade: Clarissa Dunn, Annabelle Foster, Keegan McCollum and Dylann Prather.

Click on the student names to check out our media album and pictures of the student awardees. That's quite an accomplishment and we truly celebrate with them!

Missing just 18 days  (10 percent or more) of school days due to absence for any reason—excused and/or unexcused translates into third-graders unable to master reading, sixth-graders failing subjects and ninth-graders dropping out of high school. Attendance matters!
