We have been working to create a plan for registration and screening given health guidelines and are ready to share them with our community.
Registration: If you have a registration packet for Kindergarten, please fill it out and return it on Mon., July 13 or Wed., July 15 at the elementary school. We will have a designated box to accept Kindergarten registration at the curbside. Please only return registration materials, do not leave birth certificates, proof of residency, etc. with the registration packet. The doors will be locked, so if you are in need of assistance, please call the office at 542-2646. Also if you need an alternate day for the registration drop-off, please call to set up an appointment.
Screening: After receiving the registration, we will call set up the screening appointment. The screening will be held on Tues., Aug. 11 from 8-11AM and 12-3PM and Wed., Aug. 12 between 12-7PM. On the day of your student's screening, you will need proof of residency, your student's birth certificate and your Kindergartener. While you complete the next section of paperwork in the office, your student will work with a teacher on the screening areas of letters, colors, shapes, recognizing number, and more. Everyone entering the school is required to have a mask. We will have some extra for students if needed.
After our screening, letters will be mailed to students concerning who will be their teacher and details on the start of the school year, including your student's first attendance day in Du Quoin Elementary School.
We look forward to welcoming our Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year. We cannot wait to meet each of the newest Papooses to our school and get started with our learning.
