Du Quoin Elementary parents and students,

As you read from Mr. Hickam's District Bulletin Monday, March 30, our school closure continues through April 7 called "Remote Learning Days."  Your teachers have prepared paper/pencil work and online assignments giving students and families either choice for the work based on your needs. This new week of assignments will begin Thursday, April 2 and continue through next Wednesday, April 7.  Paper/pencil grade level packets of at-home materials will be available Thursday, April 2, to families on the sidewalk in front of the elementary school marked by grade level. Families will have from 9AM-12PM on Thurs. Apr. 2 or Fri., Apr. 3 to collect grade level packets as needed. If unable to pick-up paper/pencil activities, please contact my extension in the office to make an appointment.  Reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions about the assignments.

We will collect completed work at this time also. Please make sure to write your student's name on the completed work and place finished work from the previous weeks in the designated "completed homework" boxes listed for each grade. The completed work may be turned in beginning Thursday, April 2.

Also as a reminder, meals at all four locations during the extended closure on school days are provided from 10AM - 12PM, and the DES free library in front of our school is available from 9AM - 12PM, weather permitting, on the sidewalk.

In an effort to keep connected with our students and families, we will be hosting a special spirit week next week. We invite you to share through social media or email your participation. Watch for more details on the theme days later this week. As always, please feel free to contact me at anytime with questions or concerns.
