District 300

District 300 Parents, Guardians, & Students:

I hope this message finds you all well. On behalf of our faculty, staff, and administrators, please know that we miss our students. We are looking forward to the time when our halls, rooms, playgrounds, gyms, and fields are busy with activities.

Over the weekend the Illinois State Board of Education provided schools with some new information about school closure. Here are some points of interest:

  • Tuesday, March 31 - Tuesday, April 7 are designated as Remote Learning Days. These will count as attendance days towards the school year and will NOT be made up. At this time, the school year is planned to end as regularly scheduled.
  • During the continued school closure, we will continue to provide learning materials every week and our food program will continue as it has been.
  • The statewide school closure currently expires on Tuesday, April 7. We have decided locally that Wednesday, April 8 will not be a student attendance day. We will also continue as planned with spring break days for Thursday, April 9-Monday, April 13.

This situation continues to evolve and we receive new information and guidance on a weekly, if not daily, basis. We appreciate your patience. We will continue to update the Frequently Asked Questions page on our website here

In an effort to get some feedback on our school community needs as this situation continues, we will be sharing out a short survey soon. We ask that you take a few minutes to complete that survey to help us. Thank you in advance for your help.

Stay safe,
