Today’s Lunch:  Hamburger, smiley fries, carrots with ranch, and fruit

Monday’s Breakfast:  Cream cheese filled bagels, fruit, juice, and milk

Monday’s Lunch:  Chicken patty, loaded mashed potato, broccoli, and pineapple

Attention Seniors- The last day to submit your baby picture for the yearbook is today.  

On Wednesday, March 25th Driver Education students can attend the Williamson County Traffic Safety Days field trip in Marion.  Students will get free lunch and a T-shirt. Any student in Driver Education this school year (2019-2020) is eligible to attend the field trip.  Students must pick up a permission slip in the office and have it signed and returned to Mrs. McPherson by Tuesday, March 17th. *Only the first 55 students to sign up get to attend. 

There are free tickets to this weekend’s racing events at the Southern Illinois Center at the fairgrounds.  There is one ticket for each student. They will be available during both lunch periods on the table in the cafeteria.

If you need fish today for lunch for religious reasons, please let the office or the cafeteria know. 

There will be a quick Varsity Scholar Bowl meeting during ELT on Tuesday in Mr. Summers' room.

Softball tryouts will be Monday, March 2nd.  We will let you know the time once we see how the weather is looking. Looking forward to getting the season started.

There will be a boys’ basketball meeting Tuesday, March 3rd after school in Anders gym for all freshmen through Seniors that are on the basketball team this year.  

Pet Supply Drive: Du Quoin FFA is encouraging all first hour classes to collect a variety of pet items to be donated to the Perry County Humane Society at the end of the week. Items may be dropped off in first hour classes. Items to be collected include:  Hydrogen Peroxide, Dish Washing Wands, Regular Trash Bags, Self Wringing Mops, Purina One Dog Food, Pure Balance Dog or Puppy food, Purina Cat Chow (blue bag), Purina One Cat food, Purina Kitten Chow, Renuzit Air Fresheners, Kleenex, or Batteries - AA, AAA, C, or D. Class with the most items collected will receive a donut party on Monday.

National FFA Week is February 24-28 - Each day of the week, all students at the high school are encouraged to help the FFA Celebrate National FFA Week by dressing up.  During lunch periods, all high school students are encouraged to participate in the CDE Showcase. Each day a career development event will be showcased for high school students to try. If the students participate each day, they will receive a prize at the end of the week.

FFA Activities: 8th Grade Day - FFA members will visit with all 8th-grade students to present the advantages of being in agriculture classes and the FFA Organization. Students will be making pumpkin pie and playing leadership games. 

FFA Dress Up: Flannel Friday - dress in your favorite flannel to support the Plant Science Industry. The United States is the 3rd largest producer of cotton in the world, producing around 40 Billion pounds of cotton a year.  

CDE Showcase: Dairy Foods CDE - students will be tasting three different yellow kinds of cheese to determine the variety of cheese. They will also be tasting different products to determine which are made with dairy products and which are artificial.   

NATIONAL SCHOOL BREAKFAST WEEK - MARCH 2-6, 2020 

Du Quoin Community District #300 offers school breakfast daily. We offer fresh fruits, low fat dairy products and whole grain options to complete a nutritious breakfast each day. It's a proven fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. When having a nutritious breakfast, it improves attendance, decreases tardiness and behavior. Students have better attention and memory and score higher on tests. The cafeteria will be celebrating national school breakfast week with special menus each morning for breakfast. 

• Monday, March 2: Strawberry/Cinnamon Cream Cheese Filled mini-bagels 

• Tuesday, March 3: Breakfast Bowl with Biscuit sticks 

• Wednesday, March 4: Banana Split Yogurt Parfaits 

• Thursday, March 5: Menu to be announced. Voted on by Mrs. Davis' and Mrs. Craft's class our coloring contest winners. 

• Friday, March 6: Cinnamon Rolls 

Assorted Fruit, Milk and Juice every day along with main entrée.
