Dear DES Families,
It’s hard to believe, but Friday, Dec. 20 is the end of the 2nd quarter and first half of the school year. At DES, we believe a successful educational, emotional, and physical growth of student is achieved through strong collaboration and involvement of parents and the school community. We appreciate all those who work in connection with us to support and help all our students thrive. As we approach the midyear point, know that we always have our communication lines open and welcome parents and families as we look forward to a great second half of the school year when we return in January. We do have a 2PM dismissal
on Friday, Dec. 20 for the winter break, with school resuming on Monday, Jan. 6th. Please check the calendar section on the newsletter for grade level parties.
With the start of the holiday season, I would like to bring greetings from Du Quoin Elementary. Many of us plan to or already have enjoyed holiday concerts and all the enjoyment they bring. On behalf of all the faculty and staff, we extend best wishes for a restful and peaceful holiday season. May you, your family and friends have a joyous holiday and a happy, healthy New Year!
