Dear DES Families,
It’s hard to believe, but in just a couple of weeks, we will finish the first semester of this school year. Report card day will be the Monday after returning from the holiday break on January 6. Watch for those report cards and reach out to your teacher if you have questions or concerns with your child’s progress.
Next week, thanks to the work of the PTO, our students will have an opportunity to shop for loved ones through the Santa’s Workshop event. This is held during library times Monday – Wednesday next week. All students will receive a Santa Buck to get one free item, with additional items all priced at $2. If sending money with your child for the workshop, please place it in an envelope with your student’s name and homeroom teacher. Also list the people
for which you want your child to purchase gifts. Please do not send cash that is not in an envelope. If you have questions about the workshop times, please contact our office or your child’s teacher.
We strongly encourage you to label all student belongings with your child’s name. We have already had several missing coats, hats, etc. and adding your child’s name to belongings helps tremendously in returning those items to the correct student. We do have a lost and found clothing rack in the commons and parents are welcome to search for lost items any time during the school year.
