DHS Announcements November 21, 2019

Today’s Lunch:  Cheesy breadsticks, salad, peas, and fruit

Tomorrow’s Breakfast:  Sausage biscuit, fruit, juice, and milk

Tomorrow’s Lunch:  Chicken strips, broccoli with cheese, carrots with dip, and fruit

French club is selling Eiffel bonbons for $1 a pack.  The flavors are strawberry, blue raspberry, green apple, and watermelon.  Please see a participating French club member for your purchase.

Cookies will be sold today during both lunches.

Food Drive hosted by Student Council:  Today-Friday, November 22 - Our food drive will help out our food pantries in town.  Food Items Most Needed:  

Tuna & Other Canned Meat

Peanut Butter

Soups & Beef Stew

Macaroni & Cheese

Spaghetti & Sauce

Rice and Dry & Canned Beans

Canned Vegetables & Fruits

Powdered Milk

Fruit Juice (Cans, Bottles, Boxes)

Ramen Noodles

(no Kool-Aid or powder mixes) 

Art Club shirts are in, if you ordered a shirt please pick it up in the art room. I am only here until 3rd hour.

Seniors:  John A. Logan College will be here Friday (11/22) at 9:00 a.m. to speak with all seniors in the auditorium.

There will be a short baseball meeting after school on Friday in the library, for anyone wanting to play baseball this spring.

FCCLA members--The Bonus/Service point opportunities for this year is available from Mrs. Stacey in the FACS room.  Please be sure to pick one up. Also, be sure you are planning for the cook-off on December 11--Cooking may begin at 3:30--all items must be ready for judging at 6 PM.  December meeting will be at 6 PM on December 11th.  

FBLA Members: Don't forget that T-shirt orders and Southern Area Dues must be turned in to Mrs. Gross by tomorrow, Friday, November 22.

Winter sports pictures are scheduled for today.  Picture packets are available in the main office.  Please be on time and be prepared to take a Booster picture as well.  We will start promptly at 3:20 p.m.

The Fall Sports Banquet will be on Monday, November, 25th in Hibbs Auditorium at 6:00.  Cake will be served in the cafeteria after the banquet.  

Friends of Rachel Club will have a meeting Monday during ELT in the Library to vote on turkeys.

Students-Miss Du Quoin Pageant information is now available in the guidance office.  This pageant is open to all high school students grades 9-12. College scholarship money is available for the top three finishers.

There will be a meeting after school today in the auditorium for all athletes not playing basketball to discuss winter conditioning.  All Athletes not playing basketball should attend.

Attention DHS- Hype Squad, also known as Pep Club, is hosting their first ever Holiday Door Decorating Contest.  Which first hour class can come up with the best holiday door design? Prizes are at stake for the winning room. Ask your first hour teacher for details!
