Dear DES Families,
We have several important date approaching. One…two…three…SMILE! Tomorrow, Sept. 19 is fall picture day for the elementary and middle schools. These are the school pictures used for our yearbook, so everyone will get their picture taken. Order packets were sent home with all students, so if you still need that, they are available in the office. Also we dismiss this Thursday at 2PM for school improvement meetings. Next Thursday, Sept. 26 is another early dismissal at 2PM, this time for the Homecoming parade. The parade is an important event in our community and we encourage all parents and students to attend. Watch for our 3rd graders walking with their “football buddies.” If your child participates in Arrow Academy after school, we do not have the program on 2PM dismissal days.
Hopefully in the next few weeks, we will get some relief from these hot temperatures with some much needed cooler weather. As we begin to ready for jackets, hoodies, and the rest, please be reminded to write your child’s name in all clothing and belongings. We work hard to match lost items to their rightful owner, but already have clothing items hanging in the “lost and found.” If you are ever missing an item during the year, please check the lost and found in the commons anytime during the school year.
