Academic Success
Academic Success is a class offered to all grade levels based on placement tests and grades. The purpose of this class is to help those students who are struggling with English and Math and need the extra class time to complete homework. Students work on the AutoSkill Academy of Reading and Math computer program to help strengthen their reading and mathematical skills. Students' grades are based on attendance and participation as well as daily vocabulary grades.
Academic Success helps prepare students for the PLAN, PSAE and ACT tests that are mandated by the State of Illinois. Using words from the standardized tests, the students have vocabulary words to define and use in a sentence daily. Mrs. Estes stays in contact with all teachers to ensure that students in Academic Success are well prepared for all homework, projects, and tests.
