Reasons we are proud…

  • Congrats to DHS Oct. Students of the Month: Garrett Juhl, Lamontay Daughtery, Ashlynn Jackson and Dawson McRoberts! Thanks for your positive contribution!

  • Our Student Senate is up and running as part of our Illinois Democracy School project and our students are doing great with the process!

  • Our boys’ and girls’ cross country teams both advanced from the IHSA Regional to the Sectional meet! The girls’ went on to qualify for the IHSA State for the second year in a row! Gabby Alongi finished 44th at State. Andrea Lopez was all-conference again...the first 4-time All-SIRR cross country runner in school history!

  • The FCCLA Leadership Conference was well-attended by DHS students with over 30 students participating with sponsor Mrs. Teresa Stacey.  We’re proud of our students involved in this organization.

  • We congratulate the newest members of the National Honor Society:  Abigel Alvarado, Josie Bailey, Allie Melvin, Kyle Robinson, Megan Dale, Molly Dearmond, Maddison Dorsey, Bobbiann Hamlin, Chloe Hill, Ashlynn Jackson, Maci McKinnies, Katie Smith, Olivia Whitley, Morgan Winters and Madison Worthington. These students are fine representatives of the ideals of NHS:  scholarship, service, leadership and character.

  • Maci McKinnies was named as a finalist in a national essay contest for an essay written in Mrs. Nicole Heisner’s English II class last year. Nice work Maci!

  • Grace Haney was named to the SIRR All-Conference Mississippi Division Volleyball Team!

  • Ag Education teacher Ms. Ann Ochs and a group of FFA students represented DHS at the national FFA convention in Indianapolis. The group had a great experience and look forward to returning in the future.

  • We appreciate the work of our students and Mr. Bob Huntley who constructed billboard signs for the Volunteer Foundations display for Veterans Day. Nice work!

  • The football team qualified for IHSA playoffs and finished the season with a record of 7-3. We had a great show of support by the cheerleaders, Indianettes, band and student fans on the road in Pana.

  • Our boys/girls golf teams, boys/girls cross country teams and volleyball team all received perfect sportsmanship ratings by fellow SIRR Conference schools. Great job by all!
