CHAMPIONS!!!!! Indian Scholar Bowl Team Rules the SIRR Mississippi

Indian Brains Rule the Day

    The Southern Illinois River to River Conference Varsity Scholar Bowl Championships were held February 23, 2010 at Herrin High School.  The Mississippi Division and the Ohio Division contested matches to determine their respective conference champions.

    On the Mississippi side of the conference the Indians secured the title with a victory over Nashville.  Coach Ryan Summers commented, "I am extremely pleased with the results.  We have a good group of kids who also happen to be outstanding scholars.  It is very exciting to win a conference championship."  

    Indian team members include Ian Pierce, Matt Mason, Andrew Riley, Cody Jones, Eli Epplin, Jon Mason, Molly Miller, Kara Baker, Nick Struck, Ben Hirsch, Neil Patel, and Linnea Cheek.  Top scorers for the tournament were Cody Jones and Neil Patel.

    The team will be recognized during the basketball regional championship at Du Quoin High School's Anders Gymnasium.  Congratulations to Coach Summers and the Indian Scholar Bowl Team.
