DISTRICT #300 EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

3rd Annual Golf Scramble

Held at Red Hawk Country Club

On Friday, August 7, 2009

 

The District #300 Educational Foundation recently held its 3rd Annual District #300 Educational Foundation Jim Booker Memorial Golf Scramble fundraiser at the Red Hawk Country Club on Friday, August 7, 2009. Sixty-six golfers representing 17 teams participated in the morning event.  The four person team of Jerry Rainwater, Charlie Rainwater, David Vancil and Dennis Vancil placed first in the event with a score of 56 (14 under par).  The winners of other competitions on the course receiving $20 gift certificate prizes courtesy of Lee’s Sports included: Closest To Pin – Cory Robbins, Longest Drive (Men) –Jason Hoffard, and Longest Drive (Women) –Arlene Willi. The foundation would also express its sincere appreciation to the 43 regional and local businesses that supported this event. Each of the golfers also received several individual gifts including a cloth foundation logo drink hugger, a $5 gift card from Alongi’s Restaurant, a foundation logo engraved sleeve of balls, and a team picture.  Other participant prizes given away during the event included items donated by Pepsi MidAmerica, Lee’s Sports, Insurance Planning Management and Consultants, Paradise Pools and Spas, Five Star Industries, Monte Kuhnert-Wells Fargo Financial Advisors, CDW-G Technology, Red Hawk Country Club, and the Foundation.  The golf scramble netted over $9,000 for the foundation.  The District #300 Educational Foundation expresses its sincere appreciation to those individuals and businesses that supported this successful event to benefit the students in District #300 by “Investing in Our Future”.  Funds from this event will be used to support the highly successful Foundation’s scholarship and mini-grant programs.
